14-JUN-03- ME, THE MOTHER-IN-LAW, AND LITTLE SQUIRT
Saturday 14-JUN-03. My wife's parent's were up for a visit so
on saturday I took my mother in law Vivian out in Little Squirt for a
ride.
We left in the afternoon from Glenwood dock and went out
towards the end of the outflow for about 45 minutes. We were nearly
at the opening to Gander Lake when the engine conked out.
I
thought it was probably low on gas and refilled the tank. It refused
to restart. I again had to use the electric engine to get back.
Vivian couldn't get over the difference. We were shouting to be heard
when the gas engine was going, but you could hardly hear the electric
at all. The prop whirling in the water was the loudest part. We also
were going about the same speed with both. At least that is how it
looked. I need the engine to run consistently a set distance to get
the speed and so far it has refused to do this.
All in All Viv
said she had a great time and that was the main thing.
